Mariko Ashikawa (Piano) Japan, has
won various prizes in both Japan and Europe, including 3rd Prize at the ARD
Competition in Munich (’Cello-Piano Duo) and “Best Accompanist” in the International
Tchaikovsky Competition, Moscow. She has recorded regularly for Radio and
Television and has played in the major halls of Europe and Japan, including
the Wigmore Hall London, the “Herkules Saal” Munich, Suntory Hall Tokyo and
the “Théatre Musical de Paris”, Chatelet. She currently holds a teaching
position at the Cologne Musikhochschule. Julian Shevlin (Violin) England. As prizewinner in both national and International competitions, including the International Yehudi Menuhin Violin Competition and the Royal Society for the Arts, he has toured Europe, Japan and Australia as Primarius of various chamber music groups and as a soloist. He has recorded for television and radio worldwide, including the BBC, and played at numerous festivals in Europe. He is Principal Concertmaster of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. Oren Shevlin (’Cello) England. Besides his position as Principal Solo ’Cellist of the WDR Radio Symphony Orchestra, Cologne, he is a prolific prizewinner at many competitions such as the Rostropovich International ’Cello Competition Paris (2nd Grand Prix), the ARD International Competition in Munich (3rd Prize ’Cello-Piano Duo) and the International Paulo ’Cello Competition in Helsinki (2nd Prize). He is often to be heard as a soloist and recitalist in Europe and Japan and has performed with such leading conductors as Sir André Previn, Mikhail Jurowskij and Christoph Eschenbach together with renowned orchestras like the Orchestre de Paris, the Finnish Radio Orchestra, the Helsinki Philharmonic and the WDR Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has recently recorded for Naxos. |
